Adaptable to any elementary grade level, this full-day field trip introduces students to the ecology of Bay Area foothills and forests, as well as to the connections between wild nature and our cultivated plants and animals. This highly adaptable program can be tailored to any number of specific science standards at your request. In this program, students hike into and explore various wild plant and animal communities, taking advantage of teachable moments throughout the day as fundamental science concepts such as adaptations, predator/prey relationships, erosion/deposition, the water cycle, food webs, and more are not just taught, but experienced in highly memorable ways. Kids do not forget a day spent at Hidden Villa!

Fee Description
September-February: $18 per student March- May: $20 per student The classroom presentation fee is based upon class size. The cost for one class is $125. The cost for two or more classes is $250. A $25 surcharge is added for schools outside the counties of San Mateo, San Francisco, or Santa Clara.
