Program: Marine Ecology

Topic(s)
Marine Ecology
Description
Living on the coast is a special privilege. We able to see the elephant seals hauled out on the beaches near Ano Nuevo or the Sea Otters floating through the kelp forests off the Monterey coast. This is only a small glimpse at the amazing life that thrives in the depths of the Pacific Ocean.

Students will learn about the dynamics of the ocean, its currents and tides, and how these create a healthy underwater environment. They will explore the adaptations of a variety of marine life from tide pool creatures, to the largest marine mammals.

The program is available for grades 3 and up. The selection of learning stations will focus the program to the appropriate age group.
